BRIEF HISTORY OF 96 CE: Out of total 1996 Corvette production of 21,536, there were 5,412 Collector Editions produced (4,031 Coupes and 1,831 Convertibles). I always have wanted one and I finally got one after 31 years... bought from real nice folks in Georgia (I want that 02 C5 when you get tired of it!!). The 96 has only 49K miles, super well kept, and I can hardly wait for the warm weather to take the top out and cruise. It will definitely not become a permanent garage fixture; I plan on driving it every beautiful day we're blessed with. I just can't figure out why some folks just leave them parked 90% of the time. It's the American dream... hot dogs, apple pies and Corvette's !!!
